COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Procedure
PAYROLL ADMINISTRATION
Except as provided by State and Federal law, no deductions will be made from any employee's compensation without written permission. A “Wage Deduction Authorization” form is completed by every new employee at the time of onboarding.
Deductions will be made for applicable taxes, and Teacher Retirement System of the State of Texas or an approved Optional Retirement Plan. Employees may opt to participate in the Navarro College Retirement Plan when eligibility requirements are met. Employees may provide documentation authorizing deductions to the Central Texas Teachers Credit Union, and other approved benefit programs.
All non-exempt employees should add their hours and save their timecards to Oracle daily. Timecards for the previous week are to be submitted by employees in Oracle each Monday. Line managers are responsible for the approval of all timecards every Tuesday by noon. Timecards in Oracle are the basis for computation of biweekly pay for hourly employees; timecards for salaried non-exempt employees are for record keeping and compensatory time tracking only.
Hourly employees will be paid on a biweekly basis in accordance with the rate of pay approved on file in the Human Resources Department. Salaried employees will be paid on a monthly basis on the last banking day of the month in accordance with the rate of pay approved on file in the Human Resources Department. Line managers should be mindful of pay period dates sent out yearly when requesting any personnel status changes. Changes or additions received after the payroll has been processed, will be included on the employee’s next pay cycle. .
All employees other than student workers will be paid by direct deposit. Funds will be available in the employee’s personal bank account on the respective pay dates sent out yearly. . All new hires should enter their direct deposit information into Oracle during the onboarding process initiated by Human Resources. Employees may change their depository account at any time in Oracle, while being mindful of the pay period dates sent out yearly to ensure their change is updated in time for their next pay cycle. If the employee does not have a personal bank account, he may contact the Business Office for assistance.
